I reacquainted myself with the area since the on site orientation. I felt a bit overwhelmed with where to begin so i began with what i knew…fig buttercup identification. I started far north at area 2 and was surprised to find a cluster way up there and off to the east (I yellow flagged). I continued my way south in area 2 staying mostly close to the creek. Some that had already been identified with yellow flags were budding and flowering and i snapped those babies right off. About mid-way in area 2, and still close to the creek, i spied a fig buttercup right in the middle of the “thicket of doom.” I managed to get in there and yellow flag. I continued along the stream bank and into area 3. There is a little rock beach along the creek (as of today) and I found a fig b there. I marked it with a yellow flag that may be hard to see due to the location. I hope to get more accomplished next time and maybe bring a bag for trash removal.
