From Sara Volk
My first day at JCWC as the Outreach and Riparian Specialist was a whirlwind of outdoor restoration and office onboarding while thinking that the end of my term in July was far in the future. In reality, time flew by as I was meeting partners and volunteers, leading events, and learning how an environmental nonprofit works with the community to improve watershed integrity.
Thank you to everyone who offered their knowledge, was patient while I learned my role, let me take a photo for social media, and so much more. I will cherish the past 11 months and hopefully be able to pass along the knowledge I gained and the kindness everyone showed to me as I move forward in the environmental field.
A special thank you to the JCWC staff and board members who made me feel like part of the team from day one while providing plenty of opportunities for growth. Although this feels like a goodbye, it’s really a see you later as a JCWC volunteer.
