UPDATED Monday, March 16, 2020
Dear Friends in the Johnson Creek Watershed Council community,
We want you to know that we take very seriously the need to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and support the measures taken by our state and local elected officials. As the public health situation is likely to change, we will re-evaluate the Council’s response in 30 days in response to new direction from Governor Brown and other elected officials.
For now, we have either cancelled each of our planned events and meetings in March or will be holding them online. For events in April, we will examine them on a case-by-case basis. Our decision for each event comes down to three issues:
- What direction are we receiving from elected officials and the Center for Disease Controls?
- Can we reasonably hold the event and provide prudent measures to prevent the spread of communicable diseases?
- How do our event partners feel about going forward with the event?
Our offices will be closed to visits from non-staff, and staff will be coming to work only periodically.
We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause, and hope that all of our community members remain healthy during this time. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have further questions.
Be well,
Daniel Newberry
Executive Director
