Event Full: Depave event at Stonebridge Apartments

Join us with our partners at Depave to remove 1,500 square feet of impermeable asphalt from the parking lot at Stonebridge apartments, who regularly have trouble with flooding on their lot. Our partners at Depave will train everyone on the best way to safely remove pavement for the day! No experience necessary!

What: Removing 1,500 sq ft of asphalt from the parking lot to help reduce flooding during the winter.
When: Saturday, April 8th from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Where: Stonebridge Apartments, 7733 SE 92nd Ave, Portland, OR 97266. Park at the Saint Mary’s Ethiopian Orthodox Church and walk next door to the Stonebridge Apartments.
How to prepare: This event will happen rain or shine, so dress for weather: rain coat, warm layers, sun hat, and sunscreen as necessary. Wear sturdy, close-toed shoes, long pants and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Bring a filled water bottle.
We will provide: Gloves, and all necessary tools and instruction for the day. We can also provide bus fare to and from the event. Please contact monica@jcwc.org to arrange bus fare. We will also provide coffee, snacks and a free lunch.
Health and Safety: We will follow current Oregon Health Authority guidelines. Masks are not required, but encouraged in indoor spaces where social distancing is not possible. Stay home if you are experiencing symptoms of any contagious illness or have had recent contact with someone exhibiting symptoms of any illness.
Children: Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an attentive adult.
Accessibility: This event requires walking and standing for multiple hours, lifting large pieces of asphalt up to 50 lbs., pushing wheelbarrows, bending and squatting. Bathroom will be available on site.

By Car: *parking updates will be sent out closer to the event*
By Transit: Take the 19 bus and exit at SE Flavel and 92nd and walk South on SE 92nd until reaching the apartment complex.
By Bike: SE 92nd Ave and SE Flavel St both have dedicated bike lanes.
