I worked only on clematis on this day. There is a large “family” of vines just south of the 45th Street entrance and I dug out and pulled down as much as I could, though there are small vines coming up in this whole area. It is not easy to dig out the vines/roots running just under the soil surface but I got as much as I could and cut through the roots where I could not dig them out. I will return to this area throughout the summer and continue working on it.
