Volunteer Restoration Event
Apr 19, 2014 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Join us at the Clackamas REI Store for a group bike ride to a restoration work party. Once we arrive at our destination, volunteers will remove invasive species along the Springwater Trail in outer SE Portland. Bureau of Environmental Services staff member Ali Young will be meeting the riders at 10:30am to discuss the Luther Road restoration project they\’re performing there. Don\’t miss out on your chance to ask questions and learn about this great new feature for Johnson Creek.
If you want to just come for the work party, that will be begin at 11:00am. At 1pm, we’ll head back to REI. JCWC needs your help locally to fight back against non-native invasive ivy and blackberry.
Enjoy and support the Springwater Corridor Trail, a multi-use trail that circles the city of Portland, while experiencing first-hand how fun and rewarding it is to revitalize our watershed.
Bring sturdy shoes, boots and gloves if you have them; rain gear and boots are available for all volunteers upon request. Snacks and drinks will be provided for all volunteers, but remember to bring a water bottle. T-shirts will also be given to all participants.
Join us for this one day event Saturday, April 19 from 10am to 1pm. For event details and directions, RSVP to Cathy at cathy@jcwc.org or call 503-652-7477.
We thank REI for their support of this event!
