Johnson Creek Watershed Council celebrated Earth Day this year by teaming up with the City of Gresham and hosting a habitat restoration event on April 22nd. We worked at the wonderful 7th St. Bridge site off the Springwater Trail in Gresham. It has hundreds of native baby plants that were installed over the last year or so. With the help of five volunteers and five staffers from the City of Gresham and JCWC, we covered about 450 plants with 4 yards of mulch! This mulch will help the trees and shrubs survive extreme temperatures, retain moisture and block out competing weeds. Thanks to everyone who came out and celebrated Earth Day with us this year!
