No Ivy Day at Indian Creek Natural Area

Join Johnson Creek Watershed Council and Portland Parks & Recreation to protect trees by clearing ivy from around them at this little Natural Area through which Indian Creek runs on its way to Johnson Creek. This day is part of the city-wide effort to remove Ivy!

What: Join us with partner Portland Parks & Recreation to remove Ivy
When: Saturday, October 28, 9:00 AM-noon
Where: Indian Creek Natural Area. 10368 SE Knapp St, Portland, OR 97266 (directions Below). Street parking available.
How to prepare: This event will happen rain or shine, so dress for weather: rain coat, warm layers, sun hat, and sunscreen as necessary. Wear sturdy, close-toed shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Bring a filled water bottle and a snack.
We will provide: Instruction, tools, gloves, water, coffee/tea, snacks and on-site portable toilet provided. We can also provide bus fare to and from the event. Please contact sima@jcwc.org to arrange bus fare.
Health and Safety: We will follow current Oregon Health Authority guidelines. Masks are not required, but encouraged in indoor spaces where social distancing is not possible. Stay home if you are experiencing symptoms of any contagious illness or have had recent contact with someone exhibiting symptoms of any illness.
Children are welcome at this event if accompanied by an attentive adult.
Accessibility: Terrain is hilly and uneven in places. This event may require standing for long periods, walking over uneven ground, going up or down steep slopes, bending, and lifting heavy objects.

Meet at: SE Knapp St, ¼ mile east of Mt. Scott Blvd. 10368 SE Knapp St, Portland, OR 97266. Street parking available.

Tri-met: Bus #19 (I-205 Overpass stop) or Green line MAX (Flavel stop). Walk under the I-205 Overpass, then walk southeast 200 feet on Mt. Scott Blvd. (Flavel becomes Mt. Scott Blvd.), cross Mt. Scott Blvd. (watch for fast cars!), then east on SE Knapp for ¼ mile. Indian Creek Natural Area will be on your right.
