Join us for an educational webinar on common lichen found in the Johnson Creek Watershed. This webinar is open to everyone and does not require registration. Lichen Walk Part 2: Foster Floodplain

What: Lichen walk
When: Saturday, January 21st, 2023, 9-10:00 am
Where: Foster Floodplain (directions below).
How to prepare: This event will happen rain or shine, so dress for weather: rain coat, warm layers, sun hat, and sunscreen as necessary. Wear sturdy shoes for walking.
What to bring: Bring a hand lens or magnifying glass to view details of lichen (some will be available for use). You’re welcome to bring a filled water bottle and any snacks you may need.
Please note that there are no restrooms at Foster Floodplain!
Accessibility: This event may require standing for long periods, walking over uneven ground.

Closest address: 10602 SE Foster Rd, Portland, OR
By transit: Take route # 10 or #73 to SE 107th & Foster, then walk about 0.5 miles east on SE Foster Rd. Or, walk about 0.75 miles east on SE Foster Rd. from the Lents Town Center/Foster Rd MAX station.
By bike: Bike east on Foster Rd. to the small parking lot between 103rd Place and 107th Ave. Or take the Springwater Corridor Trail to the Foster Road crossing, turn right on SE Foster Rd., then turn immediately right again into the small parking lot.
By car: Take SE Foster Rd. east and park in the small parking on the south side of Foster Road between 103rd Place and 107th Ave. Meet at the foot of the footbridge near the parking lot.
