Gwyn Case grew up in the Portland area and earned an undergraduate degree in Fisheries and Wildlife
Science at Oregon State University. She has worked as a field biologist with birds on both sides of the
United States, from Piping Plovers in New York to Bell’s Sparrows in California. Most recently she has
completed a master’s degree studying the foraging ecology of Northern Goshawks in British Columbia.
Most of her free time is spent baking or biking; what’s left is devoted to reading, birdwatching, and
knitting.
